You will lead the design, assembly, integration, and maintenance of complex electro-mechanical system in support of testing, prototyping, and pilot scale process system development. The Senior Mechatronics Engineer is a hands-on, end-to-end owner of the electrical, controls, and mechanical work that brings our pilot and production equipment online. This role is for someone senior enough to scope a problem independently, design a solution across the mechanical / electrical / controls boundary, and deliver working hardware on aggressive timelines in a fast-paced startup environment.

Your Responsibilities
- Conceive and build robust electro-mechanical assemblies from sketches, drawings, and conceptual designs, ensuring they meet required specifications and are both functional and durable.
- Own concept, design, and execution of electromechanical subsystems and equipment integrations in support of various development and manufacturing processes.
- Lead PLC programming, HMI development, and integration of sensors, instrumentation, and motion control on pilot and production equipment
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in assemblies and machinery. Collaborate with tech support and purchase necessary parts and equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment. Take ownership of the shop floor, ensuring tools and equipment are well-organized and maintained.
- Work effectively in a startup or small company setting. Embrace challenges, adapt to changes, and continuously seek to improve processes and methods.
Your Skills and Expertise
- BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering
- 6+ years of mechatronics, controls, or electromechanical engineering on custom capital equipment
- Strong PLC programming chops; experience with Ignition or a comparable modern SCADA/data platform
- Experience with sensors, instrumentation, motion systems, and electrical enclosure design
- Hands-on mechanical design ability; comfortable in CAD and on a shop floor
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and protocols relevant to electro-mechanical assemblies and shop environments.
